Valentines Card

12 Feb

Hey Bloggers!

Recently I had to give a beginners class, so I decided to do a Valentine’s card.  I stamped the heart and wording, using a Versafine red stamp pad.  Cut out the image and adhere to an embossed white card.  The embossed white card is adhered to red and then to the foled white card.  Ribbon is added to the bottom and gems around the card.  A small ribbon is added behind the heart as well.

Eiffel TowerHey Bloggers!  What a lovely technique to do.  Stamp the image onto white card stock and stamp with white embossing powder.  Heat set the image with a heat gun.  Then dab Walnut Stain Ink pad and Faded Jeans Ink pad onto a craft sheet.  Spritz Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearl Mist onto the dabbed colours.  Pick up the colour with your fingers and colour in the stamped image.  When dry, adhere to blue card and then to folded latte card stock.  Add Glossy Accents to top postage mark.  Add flower, gem brad, ribbon and pearls to card.

Distress Stains

Imagine ButterfliesAnother card using Distress Stains.  In this card, I coloured the background with Worn Lipstick Distress Stain, creating another kind of resist.  The background already has printed flowers on it, thus creating a resist effect.  The wings of the Tim Holtz butterfly die, is created by dabbing a few colours onto a craft sheet.  Water was sprayed onto the various colours.  The wings were dabbed into the colours and left to dry.  The left over piece of paper, I stamped the butterflies and cut out.  Half pearls were added to the body of the large butterfly.

Flowers in PotsI just love working with Distress Stains.  Yellow is not one of my favourite colours, but I really loved making this card.  I stamped and embossed the images with white embossing powder.  I then dabbed Wild Honey Distress stain onto a craft sheet and picked up the colours at the bottom of my image.  I repeated the colours with Peeled Paint and Faded Jean Distress Stains. And wow, we have a resist technique.  the colours were repeated on the right side.  Ribbon, flowers and pearls were added for embellishment.

My brother’s 50th

This card I made for my brother, who recently turned 50.  I cut a Grunge board with a Spellbinder die, then coloured it in with Distress Inks and a blending tool. I used various blue colours and then edged it with brown.  I stamped with Archival black stamp pad and the numbers with red.  The letters are from Tim Holtz Ideology letters.  I coloured it with Alcohol Inks to spell the word MIKE.

ReindeerThe Reindeer was stamped and embossed with Denim Embossing powder from Adirondack Embossing powders.  The three squares were embossed with a mixture of Denim and Butterscotch Embossing powder.  The ratio is two scoops Denim and one scoop Butterscotch.  The snowflake brads were coloured with Gold Leafing Pen.  The stamped used is Paperchain.
